Free hosting
Free TeamTalk servers, internet radio stations and Linux shell accounts, run on our own server. Ask for one, and an admin approves it, usually within a day.
What you can have
TeamTalk server
Your own TeamTalk 5 voice chat server, with your own channels, accounts and admins, for up to 50 people online at once. You get an admin account, a link that opens the server in TeamTalk, and you can let guests in without accounts.
Radio station
Your own Icecast internet radio station for up to 100 listeners at once. Broadcast with any program that supports Icecast, such as BUTT, Mixxx, Rocket Broadcaster, SAM Broadcaster or StationPlaylist, and share a secure (HTTPS) listening link.
Linux shell account
A Linux computer of your own, that you sign in to with SSH and an SSH key. It's separate from everyone else's, and from our server.
Free: an Ubuntu container with 1024 MB of memory and 5 GB of disk, to learn and tinker on.
Or a paid plan, with more power and more:
-
basic
A shell account for basic tasks.
- 512 MB of memory
- 1 processor core
- 5 GB of disk
- 100 Mbit/s network
- Choose your operating system
- monthly (30 days): $2.50
Paid plans are approved like everything else; you pay once they're approved. Card payments can renew automatically.
The rules
Free hosting is for communities, friends, hobby radio and learning.
- No illegal content, harassment or spam.
- No crypto mining, attacks on other computers, or sending bulk email.
- Radio stations must only broadcast what they have the right to broadcast.
- Services that break these rules, or that sit unused for a long time, can be suspended or removed.
- It's free, so there's no guarantee: keep your own backups.
